BLATA 5MG CAPSULE reduces symptoms like vaginal bleeding, prolonged periods and lower back pain. It can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. It is important to note that this medicine makes birth control less effective so use proper contraceptive methods to avoid pregnancy.
BLATA 5MG CAPSULE acts by blocking the receptors of progesterone, which decreases the levels of progesterone and therefore it is helpful in decreasing the size of fibroids. Fibroids are non-cancerous development around the uterus.
Ulipristal acetate is a derivative of 19-norprogesterone. The half-life after oral intake is 32 h; it binds to plasma proteins for 97–99%, and it is metabolized by the citochrome P450 (Gemzell-Danielsson et al., 2013a).
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Classified as a Pregnancy Category X drug, ulipristal acetate is contraindicated in patients who are pregnant or who are unsure of their pregnancy status. Although it is not known whether the drug induces fetal damage when taken during pregnancy, women should still be counseled and warned of possible fetal harm.
BLATA 5MG CAPSULE is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with BLATA 5MG CAPSULE. Please consult your doctor.
BLATA 5MG CAPSULE is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Ulipristal acetate is indicated for intermittent treatment of moderate to severe symptoms of uterine fibroids in adult women who have not reached menopause when uterine fibroid embolisation and/or surgical treatment options are not suitable or have failed.
Apalutamide. Apalutamide is predicted to decrease the efficacy of Ulipristal.
Aprepitant. Aprepitant decreases the efficacy of Ulipristal.
Atazanavir.
Bosentan.
Carbamazepine.
Clarithromycin.
Cobicistat.
Combined hormonal contraceptives.
Duration as advised by your doctor. BLATA 5MG CAPSULE may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of BLATA 5MG CAPSULE, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Consult a doctor before taking any medicines.
BLATA 5MG CAPSULE is used for the treatment of uterine fibroids and their associated symptoms, such as painful periods, heavy bleeding and pelvic pain.
It considerably reduces or stops your menstrual bleeding within the first 10 days of treatment. Notify your doctor if you continue to have heavy bleeding despite taking BLATA 5MG CAPSULE.
Your periods will usually start again within four weeks of stopping BLATA 5MG CAPSULE.
Use a reliable barrier contraceptive method (such as condoms or a diaphragm) to prevent pregnancy while you are taking BLATA 5MG CAPSULE as it may make hormonal contraceptives (such as pills) less effective.
Your doctor may get routine blood tests done to assess the functioning of your liver. Inform your doctor if you notice yellowing of skin/eye, dark urine, or stomach pain.

Q. How does BLATA 5MG CAPSULE work for fibroids?

Q. Does BLATA 5MG CAPSULE stop periods?
No, taking a single tablet of BLATA 5MG CAPSULE does not stop periods, but it may delay or prepone your periods. In some cases you may have bleeding in between your periods. Consult your doctor if this happens.
Q. Can ulipristal be used as regular birth control medicine?
No, BLATA 5MG CAPSULE cannot be used as a regular contraceptive. It is meant for occasional use as an emergency contraceptive. It is important to know that the safety and effectiveness of BLATA 5MG CAPSULE have not been established for repeated use in one menstrual cycle. Hence, its repeated use is not recommended.
Q. How and when should BLATA 5MG CAPSULE be taken?
BLATA 5MG CAPSULE should be taken orally as soon as possible after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure and not later than 120 hours (5 days). It can be taken at anytime of the day and before, during or after food. It can be taken at anytime during your menstrual cycle.
Q. What if I vomit after taking BLATA 5MG CAPSULE?
If you vomit immediately after taking BLATA 5MG CAPSULE or within 3 hours of taking it, take another tablet of BLATA 5MG CAPSULE. However, if you have vomited after 3 hours of taking the medicine you need not take another tablet.
Q. Do I need to continue with my regular birth control method?
BLATA 5MG CAPSULE may make your birth control pills less effective and therefore in addition to birth control pills you should continue using condoms till your next period (menses).
Q. What other important points I need to remember regarding BLATA 5MG CAPSULE?
While taking BLATA 5MG CAPSULE you should be aware of some important points such as it does not work if you are already pregnant and it is not effective if you have unprotected sex after taking the tablet. It is also important to know that BLATA 5MG CAPSULE does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV, syphilis etc.
