Salt Composition : Bleomycin(15IU)
Blomin 15IU Injection may be used alone or with other medicines as part of combination therapy. It is given under the supervision of a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to. You should avoid drinking alcohol as it may increase your risk of liver damage.
Bleomycin, a non-heme iron protein, acts by induction of DNA strand breaks. Some studies suggest bleomycin also inhibits incorporation of thymidine into DNA strands. DNA cleavage by bleomycin depends on oxygen and metal ions, at least in vitro.
In humans, bleomycin is rapidly eliminated primarily by renal excretion. This accounts for approximately half of a dose. In patients with renal compromise or extensive prior cisplatin therapy, the drug half-life can extend from 2 to 4 hours up to 21 hours.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
