Borox L Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

Mechanism Of Action

Borox L Tablet gives relief from cough by loosening thick mucus and making it easier to cough it out. It also makes it easier for air to move in and out of your airways. This reduces the frequency of coughing and makes you feel better.

Pharmacokinets

Levocetirizine exhibited linear pharmacokinetics over the therapeutic dose range in adult healthy subjects. Levocetirizine is rapidly and extensively absorbed following oral administration. In adults, peak plasma concentrations are achieved 0.9 hour after administration of the oral tablet.Bioavailability of ambroxol administered orally is approximately 70–80%. The distribution half-life of ambroxol is 1.3 hours, metabolite is dibromoanthranilic acid (activity unspecified) and Elimination of ambroxol is biphasic, with an alpha half-life of 1.3 hours and a beta half-life of 8.8 hours.

Contra Indications

Indications

Levocetirizine + Ambroxol is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and ambroxol which relieve cough. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that treats runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.

Interactions

AMBROXOL+LEVOCETIRIZINE may interact with anti-allergic drugs (diphenhydramine), antidepressants (duloxetine), anticonvulsants (pregabalin), and antianxiety drug (alprazolam).

Typical Dosage

Do not chew, crush or break it. Borox L Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Store below 30°C


Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Borox L Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Drink extra fluids to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.

Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Borox L Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.

Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine as it may cause increased sleepiness.

Stop taking Borox L Tablet at least three days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.

Inform your doctor if your cough persists for more than 14 days.
