Give Bronkolyte PD Drop to your child orally, with or without food. Give it with food to reduce the chances of stomach upset. You may be required to give this medicine to your child for a few days to weeks, depending upon your child’s clinical condition and severity of the illness. Do not stop the medication abruptly by yourself, even if your child starts to feel better. Continue the medicine until the prescribed course is complete. Do not give more than the prescribed dose for fast relief as it may cause unwanted effects and worsen your child’s condition.
It works by loosening/thinning up the mucous in the respiratory passages and makes the mucous less sticky. Thereby helping in removing the cough out. Terbutaline has bronchodilator properties.
Bioavailability of ambroxol administered orally is approximately 70–80%. The distribution half-life of ambroxol is 1.3 hours, metabolite is dibromoanthranilic acid (activity unspecified) and Elimination of ambroxol is biphasic, with an alpha half-life of 1.3 hours and a beta half-life of 8.8 hours.Guaifenesin is administered orally. The plasma half-life is approximately 1 hour. Guiafenesin is rapidly hydrolyzed (60% within seven hours) and then excreted in the urine, with beta-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-lactic acid as its major urinary metabolite. No unchanged drug was detected in the urine following administration.The pharmacokinetics of terbutaline has been studied after subcutaneous adminsitration of a therapeutic dose of 250 microgram in 14 patients. Short absorption half-lives of about 7 min resulted in a fast uptake of the drug.

Hypersensitivity to Bronkolyte PD Drops is a contraindication. In addition, Bronkolyte PD Drops should not be used if you have the following conditions:

Antepartum haemorrhage

Breathing difficulty
Cardiac disease
Cardiovascular disease
Eclampsia and severe pre-eclampsia intrauterine infection
History of allergy to Ambroxol or Bromhexine
Intrauterine foetal death

Bronkolyte PD Drop may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Ambroxol+Guaifenesin+Terbutaline is used in the treatment of cough with mucus. Ambroxol + Guaifenesin + Terbutaline is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol , Guaifenesin and Terbutaline, which relieves cough with mucus. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Bronkolyte PD Drops may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Bronkolyte PD Drops may interact with the following drugs and products:
Aminophylline
Antibiotics
Atomoxetine
Digoxin
Drugs used for depression
Furosemide
Methyldopa
Steroids

Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a marked dropper and take it as directed. Bronkolyte PD Drop may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Do not panic. Unless your doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Stop Bronkolyte PD Drop and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties.
Practice self-care tips:
Clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing to avoid allergies.
Give your child plenty of fluids as it helps to thin and loosen the mucus accumulated in the lungs.
Restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried. All these can trigger coughing.
Make your child gargle with warm saltwater.
Ensure your child takes enough rest.

Q. My child has a cough with no mucus. Can I give Bronkolyte PD Drop?
No, Bronkolyte PD Drop is advised for the treatment of wet cough. It aims to expel the mucus from the airway tract, thereby relieving your child from throat irritation, congestion and rendering him a soothing effect. Whereas, for a dry cough, cough suppressants are a better option. So, it will be wise to ask your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Q. What if my child takes too much Bronkolyte PD Drop?
An overdose or a prolonged intake of Bronkolyte PD Drop may cause serious side effects like seizures, rapid heart rate, and excess salivation. Make sure to give this medicine to your child strictly as per the prescribed dose, time, and way. You must also ensure not to stop the medication abruptly even if your child starts to feel better. Sudden withdrawal of this medicine may worsen your child’s condition.
Q. My child has a severe cough. Can I give him two cough medicines together?
Do not give your child more than one cough or cold medicine at a time unless advised by your child’s doctor. In case of confusion, always consult your child’s doctor before giving any medications to your child.
Q. Can I give my cough medicine to my child?
Never give your child the medicines that have been recommended for use by adults.
