Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Brutal Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Albendazole and Levamisole. Albendazole works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), so that they lose energy and die. Levamisole works by decreasing the muscle activity and causing paralysis of the worms.

Pharmacokinets

Levamisole is rapidly absorbed following oral, intramuscular, or subcutaneous administration to several animal species. Extensive metabolism occurs with rapid excretion of drug and metabolites, equally distributed between urine and feces in rats. The pharmacokinetics of albendazole differ slightly between men and women: women have a lower oral clearance and volume of distribution, while men have a lower serum peak concentration. Albendazole undergoes very fast 1st-pass metabolism in all species, such that the unchanged drug is undetectable in plasma.
