C Taz Injection should only be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Do not miss any scheduled appointments for taking this medicine. The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine.
It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Tazobactum is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ceftriaxone against bacteria.
Ceftriaxone can be administered intravenously and intramuscularly, and the drug is completely absorbed. It is not available orally. Distribution: Ceftriaxone penetrates tissues and body fluids well, including cerebrospinal fluid to treat central nervous system infections,Within 30 min of infusion, piperacillin/tazobactam achieves 16-85% of plasma concentrations in skin, muscle, lung, gallbladder, and intestinal mucosa. Plasma and tissue levels remain above the MIC90s of major pathogens for 2 h post administration.

Hypersensitivity to C Taz Injection is a contraindication. In addition, C Taz Injection should not be used if you have the following conditions:

Clostridium difficile bacterial infection
Hyperbilirubinemic infants
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins
Neonates requiring IV solutions that contain calcium
Pseudomembranous colitis
Seizures associated with this drug
C Taz Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Consuming alcohol with C Taz Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
C Taz Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of C Taz Injection may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. C Taz Injection may interact with the following drugs and products:
Arbekacin
Atracurium
Calcium
Cefoxitin
Chloramphenicol
Floxacillin
Methotrexate
Probenecid
Tobramycin
Warfarin

You have been prescribed this combination medicine to treat bacterial infections even if they have developed resistance.
Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with C Taz Injection may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps.
Stop taking C Taz Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.

Q. How long does C Taz Injection takes to work?
Usually, C Taz Injection starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.
Q. What if I don't get better after using C Taz Injection?
Inform your doctor if you don't feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Also, inform him if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine.
