Cafigesic Tablet is a painkiller used to treat headache. It works by blocking chemical messengers in the brain that tell us we have pain. By treating headache, it can help you carry out your daily activities and have a better quality of life. Take Cafigesic Tablet as prescribed by the doctor to get the most benefit.
Caffeine is rapidly and completely absorbed within an hour following ingestion. It is distributed throughout body water and readily crosses cell membranes including the brain. Its primary mechanisms for stimulatory activity appear to be the blocking of adenosine receptors and inhibition of phosphodiesterases,It distributes rapidly and evenly throughout most tissues and fluids and has a volume of distribution of approximately 0.9L/kg. 10 to 20% of the drug is bound to red blood cells. Paracetamol is extensively metabolised (predominantly in the liver), the major metabolites being the sulphate and glucuronide conjugates.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

This medicine should not be used in patients with severe allergic reaction to Cafigesic or any of the other constituents. These patients may have the following symptoms if they use this medicine:

Cafigesic Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Cafigesic Tablet.
Cafigesic Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

CAFFEINE+PARACETAMOL is used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain including, headache, migraine, toothache, period pain, Pain of osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal pains. Analgesic refers to the action of relieving pain.
CAFFEINE+PARACETAMOL interacts with anti-nausea pills (metoclopramide), an antidepressant (barbiturates), antiepileptics (carbamazepine, hydantoins), antibiotics (rifampicin), local anaesthetics (prilocaine) and anti-arthritis agents (sulfinpyrazone).
Do not chew, crush or break it. Cafigesic Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

If you miss a dose of Cafigesic Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You can take a dose of Cafigesic Tablet every 4-6 hours if needed, up to four times a day. Remember to leave at least four hours between doses and do not take more than four doses in any 24-hour period.
Taking too much of this medicine can cause damage to your liver because of the presence of paracetamol in it.
Managing your stress levels well and taking 6-7 hours of sleep at night can help prevent a headache.

Avoid Cafigesic Tablet with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.

Caffeine is often combined with paracetamol because it increases the effectiveness of paracetamol.

Contact your doctor immediately even if you feel well. An overdose of Cafigesic Tablet can cause serious liver damage. Symptoms of liver damage are fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, and yellow skin or eyes.

The recommended doses for adults and children are different. Adults should take 1-2 tablets every 4 hours. Do not take more than 8 tablets a day. Whereas, children should be given 1 tablet every 4 hours. Do not give more than 4 tablets a day.
Q. Can I take Cafigesic Tablet for headache everyday?
Avoid using Cafigesic Tablet for more than 2-3 days per week for headache. Its overuse can instead lead to the occurrence of a medicine-overuse headache.

Keep this medicine in the packet or the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
Q. Can the use of Cafigesic Tablet cause damage to the liver?
Cafigesic Tablet contains paracetamol. This medicine is known to cause harm to the liver in high doses. Also, avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may further increase your risk of liver damage. Use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with the underlying liver disease. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any early signs and symptoms of liver damage. These symptoms may include fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes and abnormal liver enzymes.
