Calcinase Nasal Spary 3.7 ml works by inhibiting the activity of the osteoclasts (cells that break down bone). When the osteoclasts break down bone tissue, the calcium enters the bloodstream. Calcinase Nasal Spary 3.7 ml decreases the amount of calcium in the blood by preventing the breakdown of bone.
When used as a nasal spray, calcitonin takes around 13 to 15 minutes to be absorbed into the blood. The half-life of commercially prepared calcitonin is around 18 to 20 minutes.
