Mechanism Of Action

It works by reducing the overproduction of skin cells that may build up and form scales on the skin. Clobetasol is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.

Pharmacokinets

Calcipotriol is a vitamin D derivative synthesized in 1985 by the Léo Laboratories. Its mode of action is identical to that of 1-25 vitamin D3 (calcitriol), essentially by regulating the activity of genes capable of responding to vitamin D,Clobetasol is under investigation for the treatment of Scleroderma. Clobetasol has been investigated for the prevention of Psoriasis and Cutaneous Atrophy Due to Corticosteroids. Clobetasol is a Corticosteroid. The mechanism of action of clobetasol is as a Corticosteroid Hormone Receptor Agonist.

Pregnancy.

Indications

Calcipotriol+Clobetasol is used in the treatment of psoriasis. Calcipotriol + Clobetasol is a combination of two medicines: Calcipotriol and Clobetasol which treat psoriasis. Calcipotriol is a form of vitamin D. It works by reducing the overproduction of skin cells that may build up and form scales on the skin.

Interactions

CALCIPOTRIOL+CLOBETASOL may interact with corticosteroids (prednisone), drugs that lower the immune system (cyclosporine), and vitamins (Vitamin D).

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Calpsor C Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Expert Advice

Calpsor C Ointment is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with psoriasis.

It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning, or overnight if you have used it in the evening.

Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.

Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.

If you are using a moisturizer along with this preparation, apply the moisturizer first. Then wait 10-15 minutes before applying Calpsor C Ointment.

Do not apply it on open wounds and cuts.

Your skin may become more sensitive to sunlight than normal while you are using Calpsor C Ointment. Try to avoid sitting out in the sun and do not use sunbeds.

Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.
