Caprin 25000IU Injection is administered under the supervision of a doctor. Your doctor will decide how often you should take this medicine. This may change from time to time depending on how well it is working. You should take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit, even if you feel fine. It is preventing future harm. Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to make sure this medicine is working well and monitor the levels of potassium and platelets.
Caprin Injection is an anticoagulant medicine. Heparin in this injection works by inactivating certain enzymes involved in the blood coagulation and hence reduces the clotting ability of blood.
Heparin binds reversibly to its target sites of action, antithrombin and the other serine proteases involved in coagulation, especially activated factor X. It also binds to other plasma proteins, including fibrinogen, plasmin, albumin, and lipases.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Absolute contraindications to heparin include known hypersensitivity, past or present heparin-induced thrombocytopenia and active bleeding. Caution is required when prescribing heparin to patients with conditions that may increase the risk of bleeding (see box).
Caprin 25000IU Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Caprin 25000IU Injection.
Caprin 25000IU Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Caprin 25000IU Injection is released in small amounts in the breast milk and amounts reaching the baby are also small, which would not be expected to cause any harmful effects to the baby.

Caprin 25000 Iu Injection 5ml belongs to a class of drugs called anticoagulants or blood thinner. Caprin 25000 Iu Injection 5ml is primarily used to prevent and treat deep vein thrombosis (blood clots in leg veins) and pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lung) stroke, Transient ischaemic attack (TIA), heart attacks.
Drug interactions of heparin include medications that increase the risk of bleeding such as aspirin, clopidogrel, warfarin, other anticoagulants, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, and others, because these add to the effects of heparin and further increase
