Cardace H 10 Tablet is taken with or without food, preferably in the morning to avoid frequent urination at night. Keep taking it for as long as advised by your doctor. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse. Keeping active with regular exercise, reducing your weight and eating a healthy diet will also help control your blood pressure. Follow your doctor’s advice while taking this medicine.
Cardace H 10 Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future.
Ramipril is a prodrug that undergoes de-esterification in the liver to form ramiprilat, its active metabolite. Ramipril rapidly distributes to all tissues, with the liver, kidneys and lungs showing markedly higher concentrations of the drug than the blood.Absorption of hydrochlorothiazide is reduced in patients with congestive heart failure. Peak plasma concentrations are observed within 1 to 5 hours of dosing, and range from 70 to 490 ng/mL following oral doses of 12.5 to 100 mg.

Hypersensitivity to Cardace H 10 Tablet is a contraindication. In addition, Cardace H 10 Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions:
Abnormally low or unstable blood pressure
Aliskiren
Allergic reactions
Asthma
Bilateral renal artery stenosis
Breastfeeding
Concurrent of K sparing diuretics
Diabetes
Dialysis
Heart disease
Cardace H 10 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Cardace H 10 Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Cardace H 10 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Ramipril AND Hydrochlorothiazide is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in patients for whom this combination therapy is appropriate. RAMIPRIL-HCTZ is not indicated for initial therapy (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION).
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Cardace H 10 Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Cardace H 10 Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
Alcohol
Aspirin
Atazanavir
Cholestyramine
Ciprofloxacin
Colestipol
Corticosteroids
Digitalis Glycosides
Enoxacin
Fluvoxamine
Do not chew, crush or break it. Cardace H 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 25°C
If you miss a dose of Cardace H 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You have been prescribed Cardace H 10 Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure.
It also lowers your risk of stroke and heart attack.
Take it in the morning with breakfast, to avoid getting up at night to urinate.
Cardace H 10 Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
Inform you doctor about any cough, or throat irritation that doesn't go away.
Cardace H 10 Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and Inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness or very dry mouth.
Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, kidney function and the levels of salts such as potassium in your blood while you are taking this medicine.
Do not take Cardace H 10 Tablet if you’re pregnant or planning pregnancy. It can cause birth defects or be fatal to your unborn baby.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cardace H 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
