It is advised to take Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER with food at a fixed time each day to maintain consistent levels of medicine in the blood. Keep taking it for as long as advised by your doctor. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse. Keeping active with regular exercise, reducing your weight and eating a healthy diet will also help control your blood pressure. Follow your doctor’s advice while taking this medicine.
Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER is a medicine used for treating high blood pressure. By lowering the blood pressure, it helps in preventing future heart attack and stroke. Early treatment with this medicine also improves chances of survival in patients of heart attack.
The pharmacokinetic profile of metoprolol succinate extended- release tablet was studied in 120 pediatric hypertensive patients (6-17 years of age) receiving doses ranging from 12.5 to 200 mg once daily. The pharmacokinetics of metoprolol were similar to those described previously in adults,Ramipril is a prodrug that undergoes de-esterification in the liver to form ramiprilat, its active metabolite. Ramipril rapidly distributes to all tissues, with the liver, kidneys and lungs showing markedly higher concentrations of the drug than the blood.

Abnormally low or unstable blood pressure
Aliskiren
Bilateral renal artery stenosis
Breastfeeding
Concurrent of K sparing diuretics
Dialysis
Hypersensitivity
Outflow tract obstruction
Pregnant
cardiogenic shock
Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER.
Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Metoprolol Succinate + Ramipril is a combination of two medicines: Metoprolol and ramipril which lower blood pressure effectively. Metoprolol is a beta blocker which works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Cardace Meto 5 ER Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Cardace Meto 5 ER Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
Atazanavir
Ciprofloxacin
Clonidine
Enoxacin
Fluoxetine
Fluvoxamine
Ketoconazole
Paroxetine
Propafenone
Quinidine
Do not chew, crush or break it. Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER is to be taken with food.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You have been prescribed Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER for the treatment of high blood pressure.
Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
It may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli.
Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking this medication.
Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor as it can cause a sudden increase in your blood pressure.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cardace Meto 5 Tablet ER is to be taken with food.
