Raising gastric pH by pretreatment with antacids or H2-receptor antagonists results in reduced absorption.Clavulanic acid along with amoxicillin is well absorbed from stomach after oral administration without having any impact of fasting and fed state on the pharmacokinetics of amoxicillin. While relative bioavailability of clavulanic acid becomes reduced when administered after 30 and 150 min of high fat breakfast.
