Ceface 125mg Tablet can be given either before or after meals but giving it with food improves absorption and reduces the chances of stomach upset in your child. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection, so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it is already time for the next dose.
Ceface 125 mg Tablet contains two different medicines, Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause infections. Cefuroxime works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime against bacteria.
The ultimate serum half-life was 1.1 h. Excretion of cefuroxime in the urine was almost complete in 24 h, the clearance being 150 ml/min/1.73m2. About 45% was excreted through the renal tubules. The injections were well tolerated and no changes in haematological or biochemical values were seen.
Ceface 125mg Tablet does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Ceface 125 MG Tablet is safe to use in pregnancy to treat bacterial infections. However, it is recommended to use this medicine only after consulting your doctor.
The doctor should stress that no alcohol is allowed while taking cefuroxime or its congeners.
Use with caution
Ceface 125 MG Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. It enters into breast milk at low levels. However, your doctor prescribes this medicine only if the benefits outweigh the risks. If it is used in your breastfeeding, the baby should be observed for symptoms such as diarrhoea and yeast infection.

Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not give the double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases.
Only give Ceface 125mg Tablet to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
Discontinue giving Ceface 125mg Tablet and consult the doctor immediately in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.

Q. My child is underweight and is not growing as per his age. Is it safe to give Ceface 125mg Tablet?
Use Ceface 125mg Tablet with caution as it may be associated with blood clotting problems especially in children who are underweight and not growing adequately. This risk is further increased if the child has underlying liver and kidney disease. Consult your child’s doctor in such cases.

Ceface 125mg Tablet may cause seizure activity, particularly in children who have kidney disease. So, Ceface 125mg Tablet should be used with caution in children with a history of seizure disorder. If seizures occur, discontinue Ceface 125mg Tablet and visit your child’s doctor right away.

An extra dose of Ceface 125mg Tablet is unlikely to harm. However, if you think you have given too much of Ceface 125mg Tablet to your child, immediately speak to a doctor. Overdose may cause unwanted side effects and may even worsen your child’s condition.
