Harmful & infectious bacteria can reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP contains cefadroxil, which is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It kills the bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis, leading to cell death. It doesn’t treat cold, flu, or other viral infections.
Cefadroxil in Cefadrox Syrup works by stopping bacterial cell wall synthesis. The absence of a bacterial cell wall results in the death of bacteria.
Cefadroxil is almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. After doses of 500 mg and 1 g by mouth, peak plasma concentrations of about 16 and 30 micrograms/ml, respectively, are obtained after 1.5 to 2.0 hours.
CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP may cause side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dyspepsia (indigestion), abdominal pain, glossitis (swelling of tongue), skin rash, and itching. Inform your doctor if these side-effects do not disappear or get worsen. A severe allergic reaction to CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP 30ML is rare. CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP 30ML should not be used in patients who have hypersensitivity to CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP 30ML, the cephalosporin, or the penicillin groups of antibiotics.
Cefadroxil is contraindicated in patients with cephalosporin hypersensitivity or cephamycin hypersensitivity. Cefadroxil should be used cautiously in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin. The structural similarity between cefadroxil and penicillin means cross-reactivity can occur.
CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP is a category B medicine. It should be used in pregnant women only when required and prescribed by your doctor.
Intake of alcohol while taking CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP may increase the risk of side-effects.
CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP may be excreted in breast milk in low amounts. So, it should be used with caution in breastfeeding mothers.
Use with caution Below 5years: Contraindicated

CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP may interact with other antibiotics (tetracycline, erythromycin, sulfonamides, and chloramphenicol) and hinder its efficacy. CEFADROX 125MG SYRUP 30ML may cause renal toxicity when interacting with aminoglycoside antibiotics (polymyxin B), and high-dose loop diuretics.
