Do not stop taking it until you have finished, even when you feel better. If you stop taking it early, some bacteria may survive and the infection may come back. Cefakind 500 tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used to treat bacterial inf. Cefakind 500 contains cefuroxime as its active component. Cefauroxime in tab Cefakind 500 works by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis of bacteria, which ultimately causes the death of bacteria.
The ultimate serum half-life was 1.1 h. Excretion of cefuroxime in the urine was almost complete in 24 h, the clearance being 150 ml/min/1.73m2. About 45% was excreted through the renal tubules. The injections were well tolerated and no changes in haematological or biochemical values were seen.
