Cefkim 50mg Tablet DT is best given an hour before or two hours after meals as that ensures better absorption. In case your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with meals. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection, so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it's the time for the next dose.

Cefixime is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections.

Pharmacokinets

Protein binding is 70 per cent. Cefixime is cleared, mainly unchanged, partly by the liver (60 per cent) and partly by the kidneys (40 per cent). The elimination half-life varies between 3 and 4 hours. Plasma concentrations increase linearly but not proportionally to doses.

Product And Alcohol Interaction

There is no 'do not drink alcohol' warning that applies to taking cefixime because it doesn't specifically affect the medicine itself. However, if you feel unwell with your infection or if you find cefixime gives you a headache or upset stomach then drinking alcohol could make this worse

Breast Feeding Related Information

It is unknown whether Cefixime passes into the breastmilk. Hence, it is advised to discontinue nursing temporarily if you are treated with C Fex Dt 50mg Tab . If you are taking this medicine while breastfeeding, watch for diarrhoea in your baby.
