Give Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup to your child with or without meals. Though the risk of developing a stomach upset is less with this medicine, giving it with meals will further reduce the risk. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection, so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it is time for the next dose.
Cefixime kills the bacterial cell by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the bacteria's outer layer (cell wall). In turn, CEFIXIME+LACTOBACILLUS SPOROGENES weakens and destroys the bacterial cell wall. It is a broad range of antibiotics that helps in fighting various types of bacteria.
Lactobacillus can also help the body metabolise and break down lactose, the natural sugar found in dairy foods. In 2016, a clinical study compared people with lactose intolerance who took a Lactobacillus supplement with those who took a placebo.
Protein binding is 70 per cent. Cefixime is cleared, mainly unchanged, partly by the liver (60 per cent) and partly by the kidneys (40 per cent). The elimination half-life varies between 3 and 4 hours. Plasma concentrations increase linearly but not proportionally to doses.
Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. It is commonly given to children to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including infections of the eyes, middle ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, bone and joints, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract.
Drug-Drug Interaction: CEFIXIME+LACTOBACILLUS may interact with drugs used to blood thinner (warfarin), water tablet (furosemide), steroids (dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, prednisone), immunosuppressants (tacrolimus, ciclosporin).
Shake well and use. Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not give the double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup may cause a bitter taste. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Never give Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. You must also never share your child’s medicine with anyone else even if they show similar symptoms.
Stop Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty. Report to the doctor without any delay.

Q. My child is suffering from liver failure and his investigations showed high blood ammonia levels. Is it safe to give Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup?
No. It is better to avoid giving Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup as it contains lactobacillus which can further elevate the levels of blood ammonia and increase the risk of serious complications like coma.
Q. What if I give too much of Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup by mistake?
Avoid giving more than the recommended dose because overdose may cause unwanted side effects and may even worsen your child’s condition. Although an extra dose of Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup is unlikely to harm, if you think you have given too much of Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup to your child, immediately speak to a doctor.

In rare cases, Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, and allergy. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.
Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup?
Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Cefo L Rediuse Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
Q. The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
No, yellow or green mucus in the nose does not mean that antibiotics are needed. It is normal for mucus to thicken up and change from clear to yellow or green. With symptoms often lasting for 7-10 days, this is exactly how a common cold generally progresses.
