Give this medicine to your child an hour before or two hours after meals. If your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with food. Make sure to stick to the prescribed dose because it is given keeping in mind the type of infection, its severity, and the age and body weight of your child. In case your child gags and expels the medicine within 30 mins of intake, repeat the same dose but do not double dose if it's the time for the next dose.
It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria.
The half-life of cefpodoxime ranges from 1.9 to 2.8 hours. The absolute bio-availability of cefpodoxime proxetil tablets is 50%, and absorption is enhanced by concomitant administration of food. Raising gastric pH by pretreatment with antacids or H2-receptor antagonists results in reduced absorption
Cefoder 100mg/5ml Syrup does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Consult your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or bother your child. The most common side effects include-

Cefoprox 100mg Dry Syrup 30 ml belongs to pregnancy category B. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, your doctor will prescribe Cefoprox 100mg Dry Syrup 30 ml only if the benefits outweigh the risks.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Cefoprox 100mg Dry Syrup 30 ml as it might cause increased dizziness.
Cefoprox 100mg Dry Syrup 30 ml passes into breast milk. Please consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding.

Cefoder 100mg/5ml Syrup is an antibiotic medicine. It is commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections targeting the ears, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. It is also effective in treating typhoid fever in children and adolescents
Cefoprox 100mg Dry Syrup 30 ml may have interaction with furosemide (used to treat oedema), warfarin (used to prevent blood clotting), calcium/vitamin D (multimineral for bones), sodium bicarbonate, aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, cimetidine, ranitidine and loratadine (used to treat ulcer and acidity), and probenecid (used to treat excess uric acid).
Shake the bottle well before each use.

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule and do not give the double dose to catch up.

Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Give this medicine with food to avoid an upset stomach.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions.
Only give Cefoder 100mg/5ml Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
