Give this medicine to your child an hour before or two hours after meals. If your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with food. Make sure to stick to the prescribed dose because it is given keeping in mind the type of infection, its severity, and the age and body weight of your child. In case your child gags and expels the medicine within 30 mins of intake, repeat the same dose but do not double dose if it's the time for the next dose.

The half-life of cefpodoxime ranges from 1.9 to 2.8 hours. The absolute bio-availability of cefpodoxime proxetil tablets is 50%, and absorption is enhanced by concomitant administration of food. Raising gastric pH by pretreatment with antacids or H2-receptor antagonists results in reduced absorption

Cefoder 100mg/5ml Syrup is an antibiotic medicine. It is commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections targeting the ears, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. It is also effective in treating typhoid fever in children and adolescents

Interactions

Cefoprox 100mg Dry Syrup 30 ml may have interaction with furosemide (used to treat oedema), warfarin (used to prevent blood clotting), calcium/vitamin D (multimineral for bones), sodium bicarbonate, aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, cimetidine, ranitidine and loratadine (used to treat ulcer and acidity), and probenecid (used to treat excess uric acid).

Effects Of Missed Dosage

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule and do not give the double dose to catch up.
