Give Cefolac-O 50mg/50mg Dry Syrup to your child orally, preferably at a fixed time, either before or after meals. In case your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with meals. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection, your child’s age, and body weight, so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of intake, repeat the same dose but do not double dose if it's time for the next dose.
Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) while ofloxacin directly interacts with the genetic material of bacteria.

CEFOLAC O SYRUP 30ML should be avoided to be taken with vaccines including typhoid vaccine, cholera vaccine, and Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG vaccine), antiepileptic (carbamazepine), blood thinner (warfarin), antacid and ulcer treating medicine (aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, cimetidine, sucralfate), medicine to treat excess uric acid (probenecid), medicines for arthritis (methotrexate), diuretics/water pills (furosemide), asthma medicine (theophylline) and pain killers (fenbufen, ibuprofen).

Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not give the double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.

Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
