The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine.
Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection contains two different medicines, Ceftriaxone and Sulbactum, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause infections. Ceftriaxone works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Sulbactam reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ceftriaxone against bacteria
The mean peaks of ceftriaxone and sulbactam concentrations in plasma were 152.06+/-6.65 microg/ml and 21.32+/-1.80 microg/ml, respectively and plasma half-lives for ceftriaxone and sulbactam were 5.2+/-0.35 hr and 0.94+/-0.038 hr, respectively.

Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Consuming alcohol with Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Ceftriaxone & Sulbactam for Injection is indicated in infections caused by Ceftriaxone sodium- sensitive pathogens and may be used in the clinical settings in Sepsis, Meningitis, Abdominal Infections (e.g. Peritonitis, infection of the biliary tract), infections of the Bones, Joints, Soft tissue, Skin and of wounds
Drug-Drug Interactions: CEFTRIAXONE+SULBACTAM may interact with vaccines (cholera vaccine) estrogens (ethinyl estradiol), penicillin antibiotics (mezlocillin and azlocillin), aminoglycoside antibiotics (amikacin, streptomycin, neomycin and gentamicin), immuno-suppressant(cyclosporine) and medicine used to treat gout

You have been prescribed this combination medicine to treat bacterial infections even if they have developed resistance.
Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps.
Stop taking Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.

Yes, Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection can cause an allergic reaction and is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to a group of antibiotic called cephalosporins. Seek emergency medical help if you have any sign of an allergic reaction like hives; difficulty in breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Yes, the use of Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic which kills the harmful bacteria. However, it also affects the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. If you are experiencing severe diarrhea, talk to your doctor about it.

Usually, Cefpen S 125mg/62.5mg Injection starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.
