Ceftazidime is a semisynthetic, broad-spectrum, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that is bactericidal through inhibition of enzymes responsible for cell-wall synthesis, primarily penicillin-binding protein 3 (PBP3).
The pharmacokinetics of ceftazidime were characterized by a half life of 0-8 to 1-9 h in six patients with GFR above 90 ml/min/1-73 m2 body area while the half life was 3-2-3-7 h in three patients with GFR between 47 and 54 ml/min/1-73 m2 body area.

Consuming alcohol with Ceftaz 1gm Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Ceftaz 1gm Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection harder to treat.
Discontinue Ceftaz 1gm Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it does not stop or if you find blood in your stools.
