Cepy 250mg Injection is commonly used to treat critically ill patients admitted to the hospital. This medicine is given by drip or by direct injection into a vein under the supervision of a doctor or a nurse. The dose will depend on what type of infection you have, where it is in the body, and how serious it is. You should keep taking the injection for as long as you are prescribed, even if your symptoms quickly improve. If you stop taking it too early the infection may return or worsen.
Cefepime is a bactericidal agent that acts by inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cefepime has a broad spectrum of in vitro activity that encompasses a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Cefepime has a low affinity for chromosomally-encoded beta-lactamases
Cefepime was absorbed rapidly; mean peak times were 1.0-1.6 hours. Pharmacokinetics were linear over the 250-mg to 2000-mg dose range, with mean total body clearance ranging from 125 to 141 mL/min. The peak plasma concentration and area under the curve increased in a dose-proportional manner
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
