Cintodac Capsule 10's is a combination of two drugs, namely: Pantoprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Cinitapride (gastro-prokinetic agent). Pantoprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of stomach acid
Pantoprazole shows linear pharmacokinetics after both i.v. and oral administration. Pantoprazole is extensively metabolized in the liver, has a total serum clearance of 0.1 l/h/kg, a serum elimination halflife of about 1.1 h, and an apparent volume of distribution of 0.15 l/kg.
Cinitapride is another agent with pharmacodynamic properties similar to those of cisapride, an older drug that was associated with cardiac arrhythmias and withdrawn from the market.

Q. What is gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)?
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when the stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus (the tube which connects your mouth and stomach). This backwash (acid reflux) can irritate the lining of your esophagus. Symptoms include chest pain usually after eating, which might be worse at night, and difficulty in swallowing.
