Clinoxid 1% Gel is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. You should normally wash and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of the medicine. It should not be applied to broken or damaged skin. Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get it in these areas. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using this medicine regularly. Do not stop using it as soon as your acne starts to get better. Ask your doctor when you should stop treatment.
Clindamycin works primarily by binding to the 50s ribosomal subunit of bacteria. This agent disrupts protein synthesis by interfering with the transpeptidation reaction, which thereby inhibits early chain elongation.
Clindamycin is absorbed well orally and can be given parenterally. Clindamycin diffuses well into body fluids except cerebrospinal fluid; it is concentrated in phagocytes. Most of the drug is metabolized; metabolites are excreted in bile and urine.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Clinoxid 1% Gel is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Clinoxid 1% Gel is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby.
Clindamycin is indicated for the treatment of pelvic infections including pelvic inflammatory disease, pelvic abscesses, endometritis and bacterial vaginosis
Cisatracurium The risk or severity of neuromuscular blockade can be increased when Clindamycin is combined with Cisatracurium.
Clarithromycin The metabolism of Clindamycin can be decreased when combined with Clarithromycin.
Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

If you miss a dose of Clinoxid 1% Gel, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Clinoxid 1% Gel.
Apply it as a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by acne.
It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.
Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.
If you think the area of skin you are treating has become more irritated and infected, you should stop using Clinoxid 1% Gel and consult your doctor.

Before using Clinoxid 1% Gel, clean and dry the affected area. Gently and thoroughly massage it into the skin. Be careful not to get the medication in your eyes or mouth. If Clinoxid 1% Gel gets in your eyes accidentally, wash with plenty of water and call your doctor if your eyes are irritated.
Q. How long should I use Clinoxid 1% Gel?
Use Clinoxid 1% Gel for as long as your doctor tells you. You may have to use it for several months to clear your acne completely. Even the initial benefits may take several weeks to appear following which you shall be able to note a gradual but definite improvement. Usually, Clinoxid 1% Gel should be used for a maximum of 12 weeks. You may need to use more than one tube of Clinoxid 1% Gel during each course of treatment.

Clinoxid 1% Gel treats and prevents acne by stopping the growth of bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) which causes it. Acne is an extremely common skin condition. Inform your doctor if you are taking any medicines regularly, to prevent any allergic reaction with other medicines. Do not cover the area being treated with Clinoxid 1% Gel with a bandage, as this may increase absorption of this medicine and increase the side effects. Do not use more than what is recommended to relieve your symptoms faster. Using more than what is advised will only increase the side effects. Let your doctor know if you are planning to conceive. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should use Clinoxid 1% Gel only if prescribed by the doctor.
