Cloam 0.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor as it has a high potential of habit-forming.
Similar to other benzodiazepines, clobazam binds to the interface of the α and γ2-subunit of the GABA-A receptor. However, it is considered a partial agonist to GABA-A receptors which sets clobazam apart from 1,4-benzodiazepines which are full agonist.
Clobazam is known to inhibit CYP2D6, affecting the pharmacokinetics of drugs such as dextromethorphan, which undergoes an 95% increase in its AUC in the presence of clobazam Clobazam and its metabolites are excreted in the urine and feces with the rate of elimination of clobazam increasing with age
