Clomilent 10mg Tablet works by increasing the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that stabilizes and enhances the mood. It is better to take it before bedtime because it can make you feel sleepy. It can be taken with or without food, but you should take it at a fixed time each day for better efficacy. The dose and duration will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms. If you have missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not skip any dose and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication must not be stopped suddenly without talking to the doctor. Your dose may be modified or gradually decreased before stopping the medication.
Clomipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant that acts by reducing the re-uptake of norepinephrine and serotonin in the central nervous system, thereby enhancing the effects of these neurotransmitters.
Clomipramine is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, but undergoes an important first-pass metabolism to demethyl-clomipramine which is pharmacologically active and participates in both therapeutic and unwanted effects

If you miss a dose of Clomilent 10mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It may take 4 to 6 weeks for Clomilent 10mg Tablet to start working. Keep taking it as prescribed.
It may cause sleepiness. Take it at bedtime and do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Clomilent 10mg Tablet as it may cause excessive sleepiness.
Monitor your weight during the treatment as this medicine can cause weight gain and increased appetite.

If you have taken an overdose of Clomilent 10mg Tablet, you may experience symptoms such as drowsiness, restlessness, agitation and delirium (disturbed state of mind with restlessness and mental confusion). You may also experience severe sweating, fast heartbeat, feeling of faint, seizures (fits), and you may even go into a state of coma. Immediately consult your doctor and seek medical help if you think you have taken too much of this medicine.
Q. If I am feeling better, can I stop taking Clomilent 10mg Tablet?
No, do not stop taking Clomilent 10mg Tablet suddenly even if you are feeling better as it may worsen your condition and also cause withdrawal symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, headache, weakness, sleep problems, fever, and irritability. Continue taking Clomilent 10mg Tablet for the duration as prescribed by your doctor to get maximum benefit. If any of the side effects are bothering you, consult your doctor. In case you have completed your course of treatment, your doctor will reduce your dose gradually before taking you off this medicine completely.
