Cof Q Tablet may be taken with food. But, it is better to take it in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Before taking it, inform doctor if you have suffered or are currently suffering from any stomach, liver or kidney disease.
Serious side effects are unlikely to occur after using this medication. But, you may get rash, irritation in ear and headache. You may also experience dizziness after taking it, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus
Chlorpheniramine belongs to the class of medicines called antihistamines. It controls the symptoms of allergy or cold-like itchiness, runny nose, and sneezing by blocking the release of certain chemicals called histamines within the body.
Cof Q tablet is used for the treatment and management of respiratory tract infec. It is also used to treat the associated symptoms like the common cold, wet cough, fever, headache, sneezing, and a runny nose. It contains paracetamol, chlorpheniramine, phenylephrine, bromhexine, and guaifenesin as its active ingredients

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Cof Q Tablet.
Cof Q Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

If you miss a dose of Cof Q Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Bromhexine
Bromhexine helps in thinning and removal of the mucus (slimy and sticky substance) from the airways, thereby treats various respiratory conditions.
Measure the syrup with a special dose-measuring spoon or cup, not a regular table spoon.
Do not use Bromhexine for more than 14 days, without your doctor’s advice.
Inform your doctor if you have suffered or are currently suffering from any stomach, liver or kidney problem.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
Chlorpheniramine Maleate
Avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery as it may decrease alertness.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Chlorpheniramine Maleate, as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness.
Guaifenesin
Guaifenesin should be taken as per dose and duration suggetsed by the doctor.
Phenylephrine
Oral phenylephrine should be taken with food
Phenylephrine can make you restless, so don't take it too close to bedtime
Do not use this medicine without doctor's advice if you are pregnant or breast feeding
Smoking may worsen the effect; therefore use of tobacco should be avoided.
Paracetamol
Paracetamol should be taken with food or milk to prevent upset stomach.
Take it as per the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Long term use may lead to serious complications such as stomach bleeding and kidney problems.
Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within 2 hours of taking Paracetamol.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine as it can increase your risk of stomach problems.
Inform your doctor if you have liver disease as your dose may need to be adjusted.
Your doctor may regularly monitor your kidney function, liver function and levels of blood components if you are taking this medicine for long-term treatment.

Guaifenesin is an expectorant, mainly used to relieve chest congestion by aiding the removal of mucus.

Consult your doctor for use more than 7 days.
Q. Can I take Guaifenesin if I have high blood pressure?
Guaifenesin should not be taken by individuals with high blood pressure.
Q. Can I take Guaifenesin with phenylephrine, ibuprofen, amoxicillin, and paracetamol (acetaminophen)?
There are no known drug interactions between phenylephrine, ibuprofen, amoxicillin, and paracetamol (acetaminophen) and Guaifenesin. However, consult your doctor about all medications currently taken before starting and while on Guaifenesin.

Q. Is it safe to use Phenylephrine?
Yes, Phenylephrine is safe for most of the patients. However, in some patients, it may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, fatigue, dizziness, dryness in the mouth, sleepiness and allergic reaction. If you experience any persistent problem while taking this medication, inform your doctor as soon as possible.
Q. Can the use of Phenylephrine cause dizziness?
Yes, the use of Phenylephrine can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for sometime and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines. Consult your doctor if the side effect persist or worsen.
Q. Can the use of Phenylephrine cause nausea and vomiting?
Yes, the use of Phenylephrine can cause nausea and vomiting. To avoid nausea one can take Phenylephrine with milk, food or with antacids. If vomiting occurs, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists. You should let your doctor know if you are unable to drink water and there are signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medication. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.
Paracetamol
Q. What if I vomit after taking Paracetamol?
If you vomit in less than 30 minutes after having a dose of Paracetamol tablets or syrup, retake the same dose again. If you vomit after 30 minutes of a dose, you do not need to take another one until the next standard dose.
Q. When will I feel better after taking the Paracetamol?
Usually, you will start feeling better after about half an hour of taking a Paracetamol.
Q. How often can I take the Paracetamol?
You should only take four doses of Paracetamol in 24 hours. There should be a gap of at least 4 hours between two doses. Do not take Paracetamol for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor first.
Q. Does Paracetamol make babies sleepy?
No, Paracetamol does not make babies sleepy. It is a pain-relieving medicine that is also used to control high fever.
