Col 400mg Injection reduces the risk of having another stroke, especially in a patient who has already had a stroke earlier. It can be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor. You can reduce your risk of having a blood clot by making changes to your lifestyle, such as not smoking, eating a healthy diet, getting regular exercise and losing weight if you need to.
Ticlopidine is an effective inhibitor of platelet aggregation. It is a prodrug that is metabolised to an active form, which blocks the ADP receptor that is involved in GPIIb/IIIa receptor activation leading to platelet aggregation.
Pharmacokinetics and Metabolism: After oral administration of a single 250-mg dose, ticlopidine hydrochloride is rapidly absorbed with peak plasma levels occurring at approximately 2 hours after dosing and is extensively metabolized. Absorption is greater than 80%.

Col 400mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Col 400mg Injection. Please consult your doctor.
Col 400mg Injection is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
To reduce the risk of thrombotic stroke (fatal or nonfatal) in patients who have experienced stroke precursors, and in patients who have had a completed thrombotic stroke.
Some products that may interact with this drug include: mifepristone, other antiplatelet drugs (such as clopidogrel), cimetidine, antacids. Other drugs like this medication that affect blood clotting may increase your risk of bleeding.

If you miss a dose of Col 400mg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Do not discontinue using the medicine without consulting your doctor as this may increase your chances of having another heart attack or stroke.
You may be asked for regular blood tests to monitor CBC (complete blood count). Inform your doctor if you experience decreased white blood cells (WBC) and any infection.
Col 400mg Injection may lower your ability to fight off infections and make you more susceptible to them. Tell your doctor right away if you have any signs of infection (e.g., fever, cough, sore throat and chills)

Col 400mg Injection is an antiplatelet medicine or blood thinner. It makes your blood flow through your blood vessels more easily, reducing the chances of developing dangerous blood clots.
Q. Can I drink alcohol with Col 400mg Injection?
Drinking too much alcohol while taking Col 400mg Injection can irritate your stomach. This can increase your risk of getting a stomach ulcer. Therefore, avoid alcohol intake while taking this medicine.

Col 400mg Injection is a blood thinner which lowers your chance of getting or dying from a heart attack or stroke. However, this blood thinning property of Col 400mg Injection (and similar drugs) can cause serious bleeding and may even lead to death in some cases. The need for blood transfusions or surgery may arise in cases of serious bleeding, such as internal bleeding.

Col 400mg Injection starts working within 30 minutes of taking your first dose. You may not feel any different after you start taking Col 400mg Injection, but this does not mean that the medicine is not working.
