Colicure Plus 80 mg/250 mg Tablet is taken with food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
Drotaverine is a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4), which is an enzyme responsible for the degradation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Inhibition of PDE4 leads to elevated levels of cAMP, leading to smooth muscle relaxation.
Mefenamic acid binds the prostaglandin synthetase receptors COX-1 and COX-2, inhibiting the action of prostaglandin synthetase. As these receptors have a role as a major mediator of inflammation and/or a role for prostanoid signaling in activity-dependent plasticity, the symptoms of pain are temporarily reduced.
Drotaverine is mainly eliminated via hepatic metabolism. About 67% of the drug is found in feces and 20% of the drug was eliminated with urine. Following oral administration of a single 80 mg dose, the mean half-life was 9.11 ± 1.29 hours. Following an intravenous dose of 80 mg, the mean half-life 9.33 ± 1.02 hours.
Mefenamic acid is rapidly absorbed after oral administration. Mefenamic acid undergoes metabolism by CYP2C9 to 3-hydroxymethyl mefenamic acid, and further oxidation to a 3-carboxymefenamic acid may occur. The activity of these metabolites has not been studied. Mefenamic acid is also glucuronidated directly.

Drug-Drug Interactions: DROTAVERINE+MEFENAMIC ACID may have interaction with pain killers (aspirin, ibuprofen, celecoxib), anticoagulants (warfarin), anti-Parkinson's (levodopa), immunosuppressant (cyclosporine, tacrolimus), anti-gout (probenecid), anti-depressant (duloxetine, lithium, fluoxetine, sertraline)

If you miss a dose of Colicure Plus 80 mg/250 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Yes, the use of Colicure Plus 80 mg/250 mg Tablet can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small and frequent sips. Also, avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with the medicine. Talk to your doctor if you have vomiting persists and you notice any signs of dehydration like less urination with dark coloured and strong-smelling urine. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.
