Colihenz P 400 Tablet may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.
Colihenz P Tablet has citicoline and piracetam as its active components.Citicoline protects brain cells from damage and helps to repair and nourish them, thereby increasing neuron excitability. Piracetam acts by improving the oxygen and blood flow to the brain.The combined action of these two active ingredients promotes healing, decreases brain damage, ensures speedy recovery in patients who have undergone stroke, and improves overall health.
Citicoline is water-soluble, with more than 90% oral bioavailability. Plasma levels peak one hour after oral ingestion, and a majority of the citicoline is excreted as CO 2 in respiration, and again 24 hours after ingestion, where the remaining citicoline is excreted through urine.Piracetam is predominantly excreted via renal elimination, where about 80-100% of the total dose is recovered in the urine. Approximately 90% of the dose of piracetam is excreted in the urine as unchanged drug 4. The plasma half life of piracetam is approximately 5 hours following oral or intravenous administration.

It works on the brain by nourishing the nerve cells, protects them from damage and improves their survival. Piracetam is a GABA (gamma amino butyric acid) analogue. It works by protecting the brain and nervous system against shortness of oxygen and also affects various ion channels on nerve cell membrane.
CITICOLINE+PIRACETAM may have interaction with anti-Parkinson medicines (levodopa, carbidopa, entacapone), nootropic drug (centrophenoxine), anti-coagulant (acenocoumarol), anti-epileptic drugs (carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbitone, valproate), and thyroid hormones.
Do not chew, crush or break it. Colihenz P 400 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Colihenz P 400 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
