Colizole Suspension is a prescription medicine that is advised to be taken as suggested by the doctor. It should be taken with food and it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as an overdose of it may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The treatment must be completed even if you feel better to ensure a complete recovery.Colizole Suspension may lead to some side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, headache, etc. To overcome any such side effects, it is advised to eat a healthy balanced diet and drink plenty of fluid. If any of the side effects get aggravated, contact your doctor immediately. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must consult your doctor immediately.
Colizole Suspension is an antibiotic which is used to treat different types of bacterial infections. Colizole Suspension works by stopping the growth of the bacteria. It is effective for bacterial infections of the lungs, throat, urinary tract, ear and stomach. It is advisable to continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed.
Sulfamethoxazole is well-absorbed when administered topically. It is rapidly absorbed when it is orally administered. Sulfamethoxazole distributes into most body tissues as well as into sputum, vaginal fluid, and middle ear fluid.Single oral dose trimethoprim pharmacokinetics were determined in 18 children aged 3 months to 13 years. Trimethoprim suspension was rapidly absorbed and quickly and widely distributed. The mean clearance was considerably faster and the elimination half life considerably shorter than values reported in adults.

Colizole Suspension is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim combination is used to treat infections including urinary tract infections, middle ear infections (otitis media), bronchitis, traveler's diarrhea, and shigellosis (bacillary dysentery).
SULFAMETHOXAZOLE+TRIMETHOPRIM may have interaction with sulphonylureas (gliclazide, glibenclamide), thiazide diuretics (bendroflumethiazide), antibiotic (azithromycin, metronidazole), and bronchodilator (albuterol).
Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Colizole Suspension is to be taken with food.

If you miss a dose of Colizole Suspension, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Stop taking Colizole Suspension and inform your doctor if you develop skin rash/blisters or other unexplained skin reaction while taking Colizole Suspension.

Avoid taking fatty or fried foods. If you start to experience vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Try small frequent sips of the liquid. Talk to your doctor if you have persistent vomiting and signs of dehydration like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicines without speaking to a doctor.

Colizole Suspension is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to any of the component or excipients of this medicine and in patients with a history of drug-induced immune thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), megaloblastic anemia due to folate deficiency. The medicine is also contraindicated in pediatric patients less than 2 months of age and in patients with marked hepatic damage or with severe renal insufficiency when renal function status cannot be monitored.
