Picolax: Sodium picosulfate is hydrolysed by colonic bacteria forming active ingredient bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)-2-pyridylmethane, a colonic stimulant, which increases the motility of the colon, thereby promoting bowel movement. Colon prep usually produces a bowel movement within 3 hours, depending on dosage individual response.
