Comptil 12.5mg Injection is given by your doctor or nurse. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. As a first-generation antipsychotic, prochlorperazine mainly blocks D2 dopamine receptors in the brain. It can also block histaminergic, cholinergic, and noradrenergic receptors
Plasma half-life (t1/2) of prochlorperazine was 6.8 +/- 0.7 h and 6.9 +/- 0.8 h for the 12.5 mg and 6.25 mg i.v. doses respectively. Apparent volume of distribution and plasma clearance were high and the kinetics did not appear to be dose-related

History of allergy to prochlorperazine or the phenothiazine drug class.
Concomitant use of CNS depressants (opioids, benzodiazepines, and barbiturates) leading to sedation.

It may also be used to treat dizziness associated with problems of the inner ear such as Meniere’s Syndrome.
It may cause sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Comptil 12.5mg Injection as it may cause excessive drowsiness.
It makes you more likely to get heatstroke. Avoid heavy exercising and drink plenty of fluids.
It can cause your skin to be more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight while having this medicine.
