Contiflo D Capsule may be taken with or without food but it should be taken at the same time each day. Your doctor will prescribe the dose most suitable for you. To gain the most benefit and to treat your symptoms effectively, you should not miss doses, even if you feel well. It may take up to 4 weeks to notice an improvement in the symptoms but keep taking them regularly. Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 4 weeks or if they get worse.
Tamsulosin is in a class of medications called alpha blockers. It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder so that urine can flow easily
Dutasteride is an androgen hormone inhibitor that inhibits 5-alpha reductase, an intracellular enzyme that converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the prostate gland, reducing the serum DHT level
Tamsulosin exhibits high plasma-protein binding, largely to alpha(1)-acid glycoprotein. It is metabolized, mainly by cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A4 and CYP2D6 to compounds with low abundance, and 8.7-15% of an oral dose is excreted renally as the parent compound
Absorption: Following administration of a single 0.5-mg dose of a soft gelatin capsule, time to peak serum concentrations (Tmax) of dutasteride occurs within 2 to 3 hours. Absolute bioavailability in 5 healthy subjects is approximately 60% (range, 40% to 94%).
