Cordarone Tablet may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day, to avoid a missed dose. If you stop taking this medicine, you may get dangerous uneven heartbeats, which can be life-threatening.The most common side effects of this medicine include lung damage, tachycardia, congestive heart failure, and elevation of liver enzymes. This medicine can also cause problems with your liver, lungs, nerves, and thyroid gland. Ask your doctor what signs to look out for and report any symptoms you have. It takes a long time to clear from the body. You may continue to have side effects after you stop using it. Ask your doctor about ways to prevent or reduce them.

Cordarone Tablet is an anti-arrhythmic medication. It regulates heart beat by blocking abnormal electrical signals in the heart.

Amiodarone is an iodine-containing compound with some structural similarity to thyroxine. The drug's high iodine content likely is a factor in its effects on the thyroid gland. The bioavailability of amiodarone is variable but generally poor, ranging from 22 to 95 percent.

Indications

Amiodarone is a class III antiarrhythmic indicated for the treatment of recurrent hemodynamically unstable ventricular tachycardia and recurrent ventricular fibrillation. Amiodarone is a benzofuran derivative, anti-arrhythmic drug used commonly in a variety of settings.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Cordarone Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
