Coxter Kit 4 Tablet is a combination of medicines that is used to treat tuberculosis, an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs but can affect other parts of the body as well. It kills as well as stops the growth of infection causing bacteria and helps in treating the infection.

Pharmacokinets

Isoniazid is an antibiotic used to treat mycobacterial infections; most commonly use in combination with other antimycobacterial agents for the treatment of active or latent tuberculosis. Antibacterial agent used primarily as a tuberculostatic. It remains the treatment of choice for tuberculosis.Approximately 80% of rifampicin is transported in blood bound to plasma proteins, mainly albumin. Rifampicin is well distributed, although to a different degree, in the various tissues of the human body. Probably in the hepatocyte, rifampicin undergoes a process of desacetylation.The typical clearance of ethambutol was estimated to be 40.7 L/h, and was found to decrease with age, at a rate of 1.41% per year. Neither HIV status nor nutritional supplementations were found to affect the pharmacokinetics of these drugs in our cohort of patients.Pyrazinamide is well absorbed orally. It crosses inflamed meninges and is an essential part of the treatment of tuberculous meningitis. It is metabolised by the liver and the metabolic products are excreted by the kidneys.

Product And Alcohol Interaction

Consuming alcohol while taking Coxter Kit 4 Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).

Indications

Isoniazid+Rifampicin+Ethambutol+Pyrazinamide is used in the treatment of tuberculosis.Isoniazid works by preventing the TB bacteria from forming their own protective covering, while rifampicin inactivates a bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) which is required by TB bacteria to make essential proteins and to reproduce. Together, they kill the bacteria and eradicate the infection. Ethambutol and pyrazinamide on the other hand, work by slowing the growth of these bacteria.

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Coxter 4 Kit may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Coxter 4 Kit may interact with the following drugs and products:

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Coxter Kit 4 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It may discolour your urine, sweat, saliva and tears a reddish/orange colour. This is normal and not harmful.

Your doctor may check your liver function before starting treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you notice yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, or stomach pain.

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Coxter Kit 4 Tablet as this may increase the risk of side effects on the liver.

It may cause vitamin B6 deficiency. Your doctor may prescribe vitamin B6 supplements to help avoid potential problems associated with its deficiency, such as inflammation of the nerves (neuritis).

Use a reliable contraceptive method (such as condoms or a diaphragm) to prevent pregnancy while you are taking Coxter Kit 4 Tablet as it may make hormonal contraceptives such as the pill less effective.

Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within at least two hours of taking Coxter Kit 4 Tablet.

Finish the full course of the medication, even if you feel better. Stopping the course early increases the risk of coming back of the infection.
