Give this medicine to your child at a fixed time before or after food in the prescribed dose, time, and way. For asthma, prefer giving Cozimont L Kid Tablet in the evening or 2 hours before physical activity. For allergy, it is best to give it either in the morning or in the evening, depending upon the time of onset of symptoms. In case your child has both, prefer giving it in the evening. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again, but skip it if it’s already time for the next dose.
Cozimont L Kid Tablet contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Levocetirizine exhibited linear pharmacokinetics over the therapeutic dose range in adult healthy subjects. Levocetirizine is rapidly and extensively absorbed following oral administration. In adults, peak plasma concentrations are achieved 0.9 hour after administration of the oral tablet.Montelukast causes inhibition of airway cysteinyl leukotriene receptors as demonstrated by the ability to inhibit bronchoconstriction due to inhaled LTD4 in asthmatics. Doses as low as 5 mg cause substantial blockage of LTD4-induced bronchoconstriction.
Cozimont L Kid Tablet does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. LEVOCETIRIZINE+MONTELUKAST may have an interaction with other anti-allergic drugs, pain killers (ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac), blood thinners (aspirin), antifungals (fluconazole, miconazole, or voriconazole), heart medications (amiodarone).
Do not chew, crush or break it. Cozimont L Kid Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Cozimont L Kid Tablet helps prevent asthma attacks. Never use it to stop an attack that has already started, as it will not help.

No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. This may result in double dosing of the active ingredients, thereby causing serious side effects.
Q. Can I decrease the dose of Cozimont L Kid Tablet by myself if my child starts to feel better?
No, adhere to the dose as prescribed by your child’s doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose by yourself as it can impact your child’s health. While increasing the dose may cause unwanted effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dose or stopping it suddenly can result in rebound reversal of all symptoms.

Cozimont L Kid Tablet should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Also, keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to avoid any accidental intake.
Q. Can Cozimont L Kid Tablet make my child sleepy?
Cozimont L Kid Tablet causes mild drowsiness which can make your child sleepy. However, never give this medicine to your child to induce sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying sleep disorder like insomnia.
Q. My child is an athlete and has to participate in a sports event in the next two days. Can I start the course of Cozimont L Kid Tablet?
No, don’t start Cozimont L Kid Tablet without speaking to your child’s doctor. Moreover, Cozimont L Kid Tablet can hamper your child’s performance as it may cause mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. So, it’s best to reach out to the doctor first.
Q. Can I stop the medicine by myself?
No, all symptoms may reappear on sudden withdrawal of Cozimont L Kid Tablet usually if taken for a long-term. It is advised to stop this medicine gradually under the guidance of your child’s doctor.
Q. My child is suffering from a mood disorder. Is it safe to give Cozimont L Kid Tablet to my child?
Some studies show that Cozimont L Kid Tablet can cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and trouble controlling body movements. Therefore, consult your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Q. Can I use Cozimont L Kid Tablet for treating acute asthma attacks in my child?
Cozimont L Kid Tablet should only be used to prevent asthma attacks. It should not be used to stop an attack that has already started. Use your child’s reliever medicine to help with an attack that has already started.
