CPZ 200mg Tablet is also used for controlling intractable hiccups, feeling or being sick (nausea), and autism (learning and communication difficulties). This medicine belongs to a group of drugs known as phenothiazines, which act on the central nervous system. It alters the thoughts and elevates the mood, improving the person’s ability to think, feel and behave.
CPZ 200mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication mustn't be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.
The antiemetic effect of chlorpromazine stems from the combined blockade of histamine H1, dopamine D2, and muscarinic M1 receptors in the vomiting center
Pharmacokinetics. The pharmacokinetics of chlorpromazine is also not fully understood and varies per the individual and route of administration. However, the kidneys excrete approximately 43-65% of the daily dose within 24 hours. There are 5 clinically important metabolites, 4 of which are biologically active.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with CPZ 200mg Tablet.
CPZ 200mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
If the CPZ 200mg Tablet is given, monitor the baby for excessive sleepiness during breastfeeding.
Schizophrenia (primarily the positive symptoms)

Inform your doctor if you notice involuntary muscle movements.
Monitor your weight during the treatment as CPZ 200mg Tablet can cause weight gain.

CPZ 200mg Tablet is not a benzodiazepine. It belongs to a class of medicines called phenothiazine antipsychotics. CPZ 200mg Tablet should not be used as a sleeping tablet
