Crifos 4gm Injection kills bacteria, which helps to improve your symptoms and cure the infection. It is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) into a vein under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Your doctor will decide the correct dose for you. You should use this medicine regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.The most common side effects of this medicine include injection site reactions (pain, swelling, or redness), vaginal inflammation, and stomach pain. Some people may develop temporary redness or pain at the site of injection. These side effects are usually mild but let your doctor know if they bother you or last more than a few days.
Crifos 4gm Injection is an antibiotic medicine that works by killing the infection-causing bacteria in your body. It is effective for bacterial infections of the throat, ears, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. Crifos 4gm Injection is given by a doctor or a nurse and should not be self-administered.
Fosfomycin acts on the cell wall by inactivating enolpyruvate transferase, thereby blocking the condensation of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine with p-enolpyruvate.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Crifos 4gm Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Consuming alcohol with Crifos 4gm Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Crifos 4gm Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Fosfomycin is indicated for the treatment of acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections in adults, caused by pathogens sensitive to fosfomycin. Fosfomycin is indicated for periprocedural prophylaxis in diagnostic and surgical transurethral procedures.

Crifos 4gm Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which kills the infection causing bacteria in your body by affecting and damaging the cell wall (covering of bacteria) synthesis. It is also seen that Crifos 4gm Injection prevents the attachment of bacteria to superficial cells of urinary bladder, hence preventing infection.
Q. What is the use of Crifos 4gm Injection?
This medication is an antibiotic used in few specific conditions like infections of urinary bladder infections and lower urinary tract infections and the infection of bone marrow. It is also sometimes used to treat infection of meninges (covering of the brain). Whether this medicine should be given to you or not will be decided by your doctor depending upon the type of bacteria causing the infection. It acts only in bacterial infections and is of no use in viral infections (such as common cold and flu).

The schedule of taking Crifos 4gm Injection is decided by your doctor. The daily dose is determined on the basis of bacteria causing the infection, severity and site of the infection. While deciding the dose and duration, the doctor will also consider your age, body weight and status of kidney function. Usually, it is given as 2–3 divided doses in whole day.
Q. Can I take Crifos 4gm Injection if have kidney problems?
Crifos 4gm Injection should be given with caution if the patient has kidney problems. Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to monitor kidney function. If at all needed to be given to patients with kidney impairment, the doctor may need to adjust the dose according to the severity of the kidney problem.
Q. How long does Crifos 4gm Injection stay in your system?
The time for which Crifos 4gm Injection will stay in our body depends upon how well your kidney functions as this medicine is excreted by the kidney. In healthy adults, about 80-90% of the total medicine injected is excreted by kidney within 10 hours after a single injection into the veins. If the patient has kidney dysfunction, the medicine may stay back for a longer time in the body.
