Pharmacokinets

Plasma concentrations of coenzyme Q10 were measured by HPLC with electrochemical detection over 48 hours. Solubilized coenzyme Q10 exhibited high absorption creating higher plasma concentrations of the drug, as a result of which its bioavailability constituted 264% of that for the powder. The absorption of L-carnitine after oral administration occurs partly via carrier-mediated transport and partly by passive diffusion. After oral doses of 1-6g, the absolute bioavailability is 5-18%. In contrast, the bioavailability of dietary L-carnitine may be as high as 75%.The C(max) for total lycopene ranged between 4.03 and 11.27 microg/dl (0.075-0.210 microm). Mean AUC(0-96) and elimination half-life for total lycopene ranged from 214 to 655 microg h/dl (3.986-12.201 micromol h/l) and 28.1 and 61.6 h, respectively.
