Give C.R.M Linctus Cherry to your child orally, either before or after food but prefer giving it at a fixed time. The doctor will prescribe the dose based upon the child’s body weight, age, and clinical condition. Usually, C.R.M Linctus Cherry is prescribed to be given up to 3 times a day. Do not continue the course for more than 4 to 5 days unless advised otherwise. Stick to the dose, time, and way as prescribed by the doctor.

Mechanism Of Action

C.R.M Linctus Cherry is a combination of two medicines: Promethazine and Pholcodine, which together relieve dry cough. Promethazine is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible to trigger cough due to allergy. Pholcodine is a cough suppressant.

Pharmacokinets

Promethazine hydrochloride is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, although a significant portion of a dose is subject to first-pass metabolism. Clinical effects are apparent within 20 minutes after oral, rectal, or intramuscular administration, and the effects last four to six hours,Pholcodine is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and freely crosses the blood-brain barrier. It is metabolised in the liver and its action may be prolonged in hepatic insufficiency.
