Cydil Plus 55 mg/1.5 mg Drop is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.The most common side effects are constipation, dryness in mouth, and blurred vision. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It can cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.
Cydil Plus 55 mg/1.5 mg Drop is a combination of two medicines: Choline and Cyproheptadine. Choline is a bile acid binding agent. It removes bile acids from the body. The liver then produces more bile acids using cholesterol, as a result, the levels of cholesterol in the body is lowered. Cyproheptadine works by reducing the effect of a chemical messenger (serotonin) in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain which regulates appetite.
Choline is also needed for gallbladder regulation, liver function and lecithin (a key lipid) formation. Choline also aids in fat and cholesterol metabolism and prevents excessive fat build up in the liver. Choline has been used to mitigate the effects of Parkinsonism and tardive dyskinesia.Cyproheptadine is well-absorbed following oral ingestion, with peak plasma levels occurring after 1 to 3 hours. Its terminal half-life when taken orally is approximately 8 hours.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Cydil Plus 55 mg/1.5 mg Drop is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Unless Cydil Plus 55 mg/1.5 mg Drop is used to lower the prolactin levels in the mother, it should be avoided as it might interfere with breastfeeding.

If you miss a dose of Cydil Plus 55 mg/1.5 mg Drop, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Keep sipping water and try sucking sugar-free sweets or chewing sugar-free gum to get relief from dryness in the mouth.
