Give Danemox 125mg Tablet either with or without food but it is best to give it with food if it upsets your child’s stomach. It is generally given two to three times a day. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor as these depend on the severity of the infection, its type, and your child’s body weight and age. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, repeat the dose when your child feels better. However, do not double the dose if it is the time for the next dose.
Amoxicillin is similar to penicillin in its bactericidal action against susceptible bacteria during the stage of active multiplication. It acts through the inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis that leads to the death of the bacteria.
The absorption of lyophilized amoxicillin after intramuscular injection resulted in an AUC that was 92% of intravenous absorption and urinary recovery of 91%. The peak serum levels, time to peak, and other pharmacokinetic parameters for intramuscular injection were nearly identical to those for oral administration.

Amoxicillin alone is indicated to treat susceptible bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, genitourinary tract, skin, skin structure, and lower respiratory tract.
Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, call your doctor before using anti-diarrhea medicine.
Do not chew, crush or break it. Danemox 125mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.
Consult a doctor before taking any medicines
Complete the entire course of antibiotics without stopping the medicine in between. Doing so may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Make sure your child drinks plenty of water if they develop diarrhea as a side effect.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions.
Give Danemox 125mg Tablet to your child only for their current infection. Avoid storing the medicine for future use as it is impossible to judge whether the same medicine would work for any future illnesses.
Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.

Q. Can I give Danemox 125mg Tablet to my child repeatedly for a long time?
Giving your child Danemox 125mg Tablet for a long term can cause fungal infection (oral thrush) in the mouth and severe gastrointestinal infections (superinfections). Therefore, do not alter the dose and duration on your own and give Danemox 125mg Tablet to your child exactly as prescribed. Additionally, irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Danemox 125mg Tablet can make the bacteria resistant.
Q. Are there any possible serious side effects of Danemox 125mg Tablet?
Although rare, Danemox 125mg Tablet may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.
Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Danemox 125mg Tablet?
Danemox 125mg Tablet can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Danemox 125mg Tablet. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Danemox 125mg Tablet?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
Q. The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
In the common cold, the mucus changes its color and thickens up with time, but this does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Common cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case they fail to clear up within this duration, reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.
Q. Is Danemox 125mg Tablet safe for children suffering from infectious mononucleosis?
No, do not give this medicine to your child in this case as a high percentage of children with infectious mononucleosis develop a skin rash (erythematous rash) while taking Danemox 125mg Tablet.
