Darolac Sachet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You may take this medicine along with oral rehydration solution (ORS) as it will help to provide adequate fluid and electrolyte replacement. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should take this medicine until your doctor tells you to stop. Consult a doctor while taking any other medicine especially steroids or antibiotics along with this medicine.

Mechanism Of Action

Darolac Sachet is a probiotic. It works by restoring the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset after antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.


Pharmacokinets

Lactobacillus acidophilus (L. acidophilus) is a type of probiotic ("good" bacteria) found in the human gut, mouth, and vagina, and also in certain foods. "Good" bacteria such as L. acidophilus can help break down food, absorb nutrients, and fight off "bad" organisms that might cause diseases.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Contra Indications

Hypersensitivity to Darolac Sachet is a contraindication. In addition, Darolac Sachet should not be used if you have the following conditions:

Indications

Lactobacillus is taken by mouth to treat and prevent diarrhea, including infectious types such as rotaviral diarrhea in children and traveler's diarrhea. It is also taken by mouth to prevent and treat diarrhea associated with using antibiotics.

Interactions

LACTOBACILLUS may interact with antifungals (ketoconazole, clotrimazole, griseofulvin).

Typical Dosage

Check the label for directions before use. Empty the granules in a glass of water/milk, stir it and consume immediately. Darolac Sachet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Darolac Sachet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Expert Advice

Avoid taking Darolac Sachet along with steroids (medications that weaken the immune system) as they might increase the chances of getting sick.

Notify your doctor if you are pregnant.

Notify your doctor if you are breast-feeding.

Take Darolac Sachet at least 2 hours before or after antibiotics. This is because taking Darolac Sachet along with the antibiotics can reduce their effectiveness.
