Daruvir 600mg Tablet should be taken with food, as this increases the absorption of the medicine into the body. You should take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. Do not stop taking it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better. If you stop taking this medicine too early then infection may return or worsen.Some people may experience nausea, diarrhea, and increased cholesterol or triglyceride levels, as side effects of this medicine. Please consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes as it can increase sugar levels in the blood.

Mechanism Of Action

Daruvir 600mg Tablet is an anti-HIV medication. It works by interfering with an enzyme (protease), which is required by HIV-infected cells to make new viruses. This stops the production of new viruses.

Pharmacokinets

Darunavir is rapidly absorbed after oral administration, reaching peak plasma concentrations after 2.5-4 hours. Absorption is followed by a fast distribution/elimination phase and a subsequent slower elimination phase with a terminal elimination half-life of 15 hours in the presence of low-dose ritonavir.

Indications

Darunavir, co-administered with ritonavir, and with other antiretroviral agents, is indicated for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in children age 3 or above and adults with HIV-1 infection.

DARUNAVIR may interact with similar category antiretroviral medications (e.g. emtricitabine, tenofovir alafenamide, etravirine), medicines used to treat high blood pressure (e.g. diltiazem), medicines used to treat erectile dysfunction (e.g. avanafil), medicines used to treat allergy symptoms (e.g. astemizole, terfenadine), medicines used to help you sleep and/or relieve anxiety (e.g. triazolam, midazolam), medicines used to treat stomach conditions (e.g. cisapride), medicines used to treat migraine headaches (e.g. ergotamine, dihydroergotamine, ergometrine), medicines used to treat certain heart disorders (e.g. quinidine, ranolazine, amiodarone), medicines used to treat high blood pressure in the pulmonary circulation (e.g. sildenafil), anticoagulant medications (e.g. dabigatran, ticagrelor), and herbal medicine used to treat depression (e.g. St. John's wort).

Effects Of Missed Dosage
