Defung 20mg/100mg/500mg Tablet VT is to be used as per the label instructions or as suggested by your doctor. This medicine is only for vaginal application. You must wash your hands before and after using it. It is best to use this at bedtime regularly to get the most benefit. If there is any accidental exposure of the medicine to the eyes or mouth, you must wash immediately. For better efficacy of the medicine, the course of the treatment should be completed even if you feel better. Do not use it more than the recommended dose.Defung 20mg/100mg/500mg Tablet VT may lead to a few common side effects like mild irritation and burning sensation at the application site. If these side effects do not improve with time or worsen, inform your doctor. In case of any allergic reactions (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), it is advised to call for immediate medical help.
Defung 20mg/100mg/500mg Tablet VT is a combination of three medicines: Clotrimazole, Miconazole and Tinidazole which treat infections. Clotrimazole and Miconazole are antifungal medicines which stop the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Tinidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA.
After vaginal treatment with clotrimazole, the small fraction absorbed into the systemic circulation--between 3% and 10% of the dose--is subjected to metabolism and excretion as after oral or intravenous administration. The vaginal availability of clotrimazole is largely dependent on the formulation applied.The salivary pharmacokinetic profile of miconazole in the oral gel showed peak concentrations 30 min after each gel application. The mean maximum salivary miconazole concentration over the 12-h period occurred 30 min after the second application of the gel.The plasma half-life of tinidazole is approximately 12-14 hours. Tinidazole is excreted by the liver and the kidneys. Tinidazole is excreted in the urine mainly as unchanged drug (approximately 20-25% of the administered dose). Approximately 12% of the drug is excreted in the feces.

Defung 20mg/100mg/500mg Tablet VT should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
If a single dose of Defung 20mg/100mg/500mg Tablet VT is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.

Clotrimazole,Miconazole AND Tinidazole may interact with blood thinners (warfarin). Inform your doctor if you are taking any herbal supplements, vitamins or OTC medicines.
Wash and dry your vaginal area. Lie on your back and gently insert the tablet into the vagina as mentioned in the label. It is best to use it just before bedtime.

If you miss a dose of Defung 20mg/100mg/500mg Tablet VT, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Defung 20mg/100mg/500mg Tablet VT is inserted into the vagina using an applicator, usually at night before going to bed.
Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
Avoid contact with your eyes. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.
It can damage condoms and diaphragms and make them ineffective at preventing pregnancy. Ask your doctor about other suitable methods of preventing pregnancy.
Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not get improved within 3 days of taking the medicine.
