Deriphyllin Tablet is a combination of two bronchodilators: Etofylline and Theophylline. They work by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widen the airways. This makes breathing easier.


Pharmacokinets

Etofylline is a N-7 substituted theophylline derivative which dose not release theophylline in vitro or in vivo. It therefore has its own pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties. Its plasma decay after intravenous administration shows two-compartment kinetics with a rapid distribution.Theophylline distributes rapidly into fat-free tissues and body water. 40% is bound to plasma proteins, primarily to albumin, although blood pH values, the plasma protein content and the administration of concomitant drugs may vary this fraction.

Interactions

ETOFYLLINE+THEOPHYLLINE may interact with antidepressants (clomipramine, desipramine, amitriptyline, amoxapine), anti-HIV medicines (ritonavir), antibiotics (erythromycin, clarithromycin, ciprofloxacin, enoxacin, linezolid), antifungals (fluconazole), anti-tuberculosis drugs (isoniazid, rifampicin), diuretics and oral contraceptives.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Deriphyllin Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
