Dermacare Soap is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. You should normally wash and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of the medicine. It should not be applied to broken or damaged skin. Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get it in these areas. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using this medicine regularly. Do not stop using it as soon as your acne starts to get better. Ask your doctor when you should stop treatment.

Mechanism Of Action

Clindamycin works primarily by binding to the 50s ribosomal subunit of bacteria. This agent disrupts protein synthesis by interfering with the transpeptidation reaction, which thereby inhibits early chain elongation.

Pharmacokinets

Pharmacokinetics. Clindamycin is absorbed well orally and can be given parenterally. Clindamycin diffuses well into body fluids except cerebrospinal fluid; it is concentrated in phagocytes. Most of the drug is metabolized; metabolites are excreted in bile and urine.

Contra Indications

You should not use clindamycin topical if you are allergic to clindamycin or lincomycin, or if you have: inflammation of your intestines (also called enteritis); ulcerative colitis; or. if you have ever had severe diarrhea caused by antibiotic medicine.

Indications

Clindamycin is indicated for the treatment of pelvic infections including pelvic inflammatory disease, pelvic abscesses, endometritis and bacterial vaginosis . It has been used in pregnancy, and is classified as fetal risk factor B. There are no reports of congenital defects or other fetal toxicity

Dermacare Soap treats and prevents acne by stopping the growth of bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) which causes it. Acne is an extremely common skin condition. During adolescence, grease glands in the skin produce extra grease in response to normal amounts of sex hormones in the body which can cause blocked pores (i.e., blackheads). When this happens, the pores are invaded by bacteria. As a result, certain chemicals are produced which go into deeper parts of the skin to produce red spots filled with pus, called acne.
