Dermibet N Cream is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. A thin layer of the medicine should be applied only to the affected areas of the skin with clean and dry hands. If it gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina rinse with water. It may take several days to weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using this medicine regularly. The course of the treatment should be completed to ensure better efficacy of the medicine. If your condition does not improve or gets worse, you should talk to your doctor.
Clobetasol propionate exerts its effect by binding to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors and subsequently activates glucocorticoid receptor mediated gene expression. This results in synthesis of certain anti-inflammatory proteins, while inhibiting the synthesis of certain inflammatory mediators.
Miconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, a major component of fungal cell membranes. This interferes with the barrier function of the membrane and with membrane-bound enzymes
Neomycin is bactericidal in action. Similar to other aminoglycosides, it inhibits bacterial protein synthesis through irreversible binding to the 30 S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria.
Some researchers have found that suppression of cortisol levels is still apparent 96 hours after topical use of this medicine, which implies that clobetasol can stay in your system for long periods of time, possibly for up to a few weeks. Clobetasol is not recommended to be used for more than two consecutive weeks
The salivary pharmacokinetic profile of miconazole in the oral gel showed peak concentrations 30 min after each gel application. The mean maximum salivary miconazole concentration over the 12-h period occurred 30 min after the second application of the gel.
There is limited information on the metabolism of neomycin, as there is limited systemic absorption following drug administration. Metabolism is deemed to be negligible. The small absorbed fraction of neomycin is excreted by the kidney. The unabsorbed portion of the drug is excreted unchanged in the feces.
